Why Small groups
Build Relationships - Small groups provide a great environment for us to get to know each other, to put some time into the “one another” commands of the New Testament, and to carry out our church covenant with each other. We desire to see each of the regular attenders at Emmanuel grow in relationship with each other and with God, and we want to use the small groups as a tool to carry this out. Because of this, we want roughly a third of your small group time committed to building relationships.
Depend on Prayer – Small groups provide a safe setting for us to share our burdens and joys, and intercede for each other in prayer. We desire that these times of prayer, in your small group, not only focus on the needs of the group, but also on a desire to see the ministries of the church and our community brought before God. Because of this, we want roughly a third of your small group time committed to prayer.
Apply Truth – Christ’s final command to his disciples was to “teach them to obey” – we often are heavy on the teaching part of this command, and light on the accountability to obey. We desire our people to discuss the challenges of the body teaching times, and work together on applying it to their lives. Because of this, we want roughly a third of your small group time committed to applying the Sunday service body
There are so many options for choosing a small group. Different places, times and studies. As you are looking through the details. If you have any questions use the contact us button on the bottom of the page.
