After hearing from our governor, our elders have made a decision to abide by the spirit of his request and make some significant adjustments to the way that we do church.
These changes do not prevent us from accomplishing our mission. As a church, we must continue to "Honor God and love people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ." With that said, in these unique times each one of us needs to be on mission in effective and creative ways.
Remember, today as yesterday, the world is still in God’s hands. Nothing has changed. Be wise, but don't succumb to fear and panic. Trust the Lord.
March 17 Update
Within the last 24 hours President Trump and Governor DeWine have put new and sweeping restrictions in place in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 (Corona Virus). We ask you to cooperate with these new restrictions. It is now recommended that Ohioans stay at home as much as possible. Beginning immediately, we advise gatherings of any size to not meet in person. Instead, we ask you to seek alternative ways to stay connected with one another. When you absolutely must meet in person with others, please maintain appropriate physical distance, wash your hands often, and carefully follow all safety precautions.
As followers of Jesus, may God help us to give honor to the government officials whom He has placed in authority over us.
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live
as God’s slaves. Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.
1 Peter 2:13-17
We ask our church family to again participate in the worship service via the live stream on Sunday at 10AM. For those of you who are unable to access the worship service via live stream, please contact the church office right away so that we can try to figure out alternative ways for you to stay connected. All other children’s, youth, and adult meetings held at EBC remain cancelled or postponed until further notice. Visit ebcxenia.org/updates to access the live stream and to obtain additional updates. This is a time for much prayer and meditation on God’s truth. Please make time each day to spend with God and to lead your family in worship. There are no restrictions that prevent us from doing this! Please call one of the elders or the church office if you have questions, concerns, or needs. May we be focused on honoring God and loving people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
